The Lakeshore Fiber Arts Guild is dedicated to creating, sharing, and promoting fiber arts in West Michigan. This exhibit showcases the talents of many fiber artists in the guild. Combining fiber arts in new and exciting ways is a hallmark of this encouraging and exuberant group. The guild has attracted diverse talent from its inception in 1979, with members joining together to share their knowledge of a wide variety of textile and fiber arts, from weaving to spinning, yarn and fabric dyeing and painting, basketmaking, papermaking, garment construction, knitting, crocheting, felting, quilting, dollmaking, hand-stitching, embroidery, beading, and more. Guild members are united by a love of fiber and textiles, curiosity to expand their aesthetic palettes, and willingness to learn from each other. All are welcome. Many guild artists have exhibited their work and taught courses here at the Holland Area Arts Council. We hope this exhibit expands your appreciation of fiber arts and their historical and cultural impact.
